From our offices around the world, we offer services from comprehensive trading and investment in environmental commodities to tailored decarbonization strategies. Embark on a purpose-driven career with us and make a tangible difference in accelerating green growth. We’re looking for a Policy Researcher in the Trading Analysis team of Renewable Gas to join our business and the extremely dynamic market we operate in, and to embark on a journey with us towards a better tomorrow.
TEAM & ROLE
STX is a market-leading renewable energy trading house and a major, independent trader of biomethane. This role is to join an established Trading Analysis team, working closely with Trading, Sales Trading, Origination and Portfolio Management for the European biomethane team.
Policy is a major driver of environmental markets and having a detailed understanding of the policy landscape provides a crucial trading edge. We incorporate policy insights directly into our supply/demand models, pricing calculations, and directional views to form hard-to-replicate trading strategies. This commercially exposed role will take ownership of the biomethane policy research within the Trading Analysis team and become the leading internal expert in national biomethane regulations of European countries, uncovering ‘regulatory arbitrages’ and taking a view on the outcome of upcoming policy events. The day-to-day will focus on reading and interpreting national level legislation and following the discussions/drafts for new legislation that would impact the market, translating these learnings into tradeable insights.
Growing the global green economy. Ready to make it your mission?

- Take ownership of national-level policy research for European biomethane, becoming STX’s leading expert in this area.

- Collaborate with wider STX research teams to share views that affect multiple commodities.
- Where relevant, leverage research to form trading strategies with cross-commodity exposure.
- Develop expertise in trading, to improve trading advise and provide more specific trade proposals.
